Islamic Social Service Society Launches ‘Oxygen Therapy Center’ to Aid Covid-19 Patients in Telangana

Hyderabad, May 7 2021 – The Islamic Social Service Society (ISSS), Hyderabad, managed and run under the Jamaat-e-Islami-e-Hind, has launched an ‘Oxygen Therapy Center’ to help Covid-19 patients during the second wave of the pandemic in Telangana. The center, which has 50 beds, was inaugurated by Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and Jamat-e-Islami Hind Telangana President Maulana Hamid Muhammad Khan at Jamia Darul Huda, Pahadi Shareef, Hyderabad.

The ISSS has taken this initiative to provide quarantine and oxygen facilities to severe Covid-19 patients. The center will function as an outpatient service for the first three days and will later admit only quarantine and home isolation patients who require oxygen, clarifying that severe patients will not be admitted. The facility has been started with 40 medical staff, and the Secretary of ISSS, Hafiz Muhammad Rashaduddin, has announced that the center will only run for three months, considering the severity of the Covid crisis in the capital.

During the inauguration ceremony, Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy congratulated the organizers for setting up the Oxygen Therapy Center and called upon other NGOs to come forward in the fight against Covid-19 to curb the spread of the virus. JIH Telangana President Hamid Mohammad Khan praised the ISSS Hyderabad for providing welfare services to the people of Telangana since its foundation in 1970.
